Mount Hood in Oregon State seems to preside over its surrounding environment with its stately grace and iconic shape. This large studio piece was painted from plein air sketches from a view point on Underwood Mountain, looking across the Columbia River and Hood River Valley. In late afternoon, the golden light seems to carve out the landscape.
