Winter Bouquet: paper white narcissus, hellebores, boxwood” is a plein air outdoor still life I set up on a rock in our snowy back yard. The idea came from an early morning dream of taking my full bloom paperwhite narcissus outside to cut them and arrange them in a vase... I think the dream came from the desire to have something hopeful to celebrate. Being painted outside they bring freshness inside... the palette feels clean and contemporary. The snow around the plant enhances the seasonal timelessness of the image. (entirely plein air Jan. 2021)
