This is a plein air painting done over a few days this Spring during Covid. I took this yellow reading chair from my daughters room they were not so happy. But when I placed it beneath the apple tree they were delighted to go outside to read under the blossoms. The blossoms, the bees, and the comfort of this very soft velvet chair felt hopeful to me. At first I wished one of the girls would sit for me but as I made the painting I thought it best empty. In this way it invites you in to sit and smell the blossoms, to rest or read or just daydream for a while. The paintings I have submitted to this round of the Salon are all done in my backyard during covid. It is good to be rounding the corner. (entirely plein air May 2020)
