"Angular Light- Ithaca. NY"

This painting depicts an historic stairway leading from downtown Ithaca up to the Cornell campus with a view of the town and Cayuga Lake in the distance. The view appealed to me for it's compositional dynamics. This included the zigzag directional movement formed by the stairway leading back and down into the scene. The late afternoon light that was streaming across the scene also intrigued me as it broth out the geometry of the stairs and the forms of the houses.
