Still Life With Jade Fruit, 22" x 28" Oil On Canvas, $6,000
Another thing I love to incorporate in my paintings are Pearls… A Pearl for a Perl. Designing a still life is a process. For me I choose something that inspires me. In this painting, it was jade fruit my parents bequeathed to me. I usually hunt through the house collecting things might compliment one another and then put them in a big pile. I stack them high, low, drape pearls, remove items, so several mini black and white sketches and continue the process of adding and removing until it speaks to me.
