The Dearborn and Missouri Rivers converge in the canyon just south of Cascade, MT. There's a large rock feature that stands like a sentry with emerald green water swirling at its base, and fish jumping just beyond reach of the drift boats gliding by. The morning I painted this was a perfectly calm serene morning, complete with an osprey repeatedly skydiving into the river for fish.
