Shadows at Dusk

This painting began en plein air near dusk at a midwest farm then painted larger in my studio. Chasing the light, painting cast shadows on the broadside of the crisp white barn and the ground leading the viewer's eye throughout. ?My style expressed through oil on a Belgian linen panel with a contrast of smooth brush strokes and thick paint applications. Layers created throughout the textured broad side of the barn and foreground shadows by adding a gel medium applied with a palette knife.
