Sense of Place

An allegory of a woman using all her senses to experience her home, her world. Sense of smell, hearing, touch, temperature, time, equilibrium, belonging … The process began with a photoshoot. A friend and I went to the top of a parking garage where I memorized the feeling of the place, quality of light, and took a mental sketch of the composition. In the studio I used several photos from that set to create the final painting.
