Observing the Sunset

Griffith Observatory at sunset provides an amazing stage for the lights of downtown in the distance. As evening drops over Los Angeles, the final glow of the sun blankets the city in a pink glow. "Griffith Observatory is one of my favorite spots to paint. Lot's of folks had the same idea I did that evening so I had to park down the hill and hike the last way to see this lovely sunset against the amazing architecture of the observatory, It is always different and always interesting. Because of the changing light, I finished this painting in the studio."
