I wanted to express the power of an inner protector that we all have, which is avoidance. When troubles are overwhelming and can undermine our stability we can tend to avoid the problem, just getting distracted, or turning our look away from it. We can see this is learned at a very early stage of life, when kids close their eyes or cover them in front of what scares them.
There are so many ways to avoid facing pending matters. Flying away from worries is a very attractive response, it’s a protection from sudden anxiety, but it is not a great solution to deal with it in the long term. We can have a specialist side in creating diversions and distractions, to keep our view occupied and close our eyes, but there’s also the other specialist side in knocking at the awareness door, and it never goes to sleep.
